C is winging his way home to us at last.  tomorrow is a holiday here so today feels like a friday as neither c or m will go to school or work now again until next week.

I've been trying to follow a lchf diet lately and made these little cottage cheese pancakes.  Absolutely delicious but yet the thought of them wasn't at all appealing.

Today we celebrated Mothers' Day.  Officially it's next Sunday but C is in India so we decided to celebrate it this weekend instead.  We headed off to Hjälmarengården for lunch and then a quick trip by Vingåker to look for sandals for M and we actually got lucky and found a good brand at a decent price (for Sweden anyway!).

The boys did me proud and got me these lovely candle holders/perhaps even vases:)

TGIF

We biked to school today as it was already 15 degrees at 7am this morning, then I cycled on to the gym.  The first time I have biked there but I can say, not the last.  At lunchtime we had around 20 degrees.

I did lots of laundry today to take advantage of the nice sunny day.  There's something nice about being able to hang the washing outside instead of having it hanging in the laundry room.

And, today was the first of many days (I hope) of sandal wearing.

Sun, at last!

This morning started out grey but the sun is now out and after quite a few days of rain and dullness it feels great to see the sun shining.  What a difference the weather can make to our mood.

C is off on his travels again next week to India for around 1.5 weeks.  So, it's just me and the boy and of course Bella.  A couple of years ago we travelled with C to Singapore and had a fantastic trip there, mainly due to C's work colleague and his wife who took time out of their schedule to show us around and we went to places I'm sure we would have never discovered on our own.  We ate in fantastic restaurants and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.  Next weekend, when C is away, F & P are spending a few days in Stockholm and I'm deliberating whether or not M and I head up there, either for the day, or for the weekend.  It would be fantastic to see them again.

Hockey boy

M loves hockey.  He started hockey school this past winter and took to it immediately even though he'd never skated before.  I can say that I was one proud mummy:)  We spent one day at least every weekend during the winter watching the hockey school training and there were even a couple of tournaments where the school would play against another local team.  There's something so cute about little people playing ice hockey.

This picture was taken on Christmas Day last year when M got his first ice hockey gear.  I can definitely say that this was THE present of the year:)

Anyway yesterday we found out that we'd won a competition to meet four of the Örebro's ice hockey team.  M will get to eat dinner with them.  How cool is that for a 7 year old crazy hockey fan.  So exciting.

This morning started with a trip to the gym.  I love a challenge and one of my longest challenges that so far I've been able to complete is to run for 30mins/5kms.  I nearly got there a couple of years ago, running for 22 mins but then my trips to the gym became more infrequent and that goal disappeared but now I'm on it again.  Today was split into a 5 mins warm up followed by 6 runs of 1,5 mins interspersed with 2 mins walk.  Tough, yes, but I love a challenge.

On this morning

This morning started as the last few have, grey and dull.  Somehow it feels tougher to get up out of beds on days like this (especially when my alarm clock seems to be giving up the ghost).

But, up I got as I planned a trip to the gym as I'm on day 3 of my couch to 5k running plan.  Before the gym I dropped M at school.  Today is fritidsdag so I'm hoping the weather is kind and the rain stays away as the kids will be walking to the sjöpark.

After the gym I nipped into the supermarket to pick up some odds and ends before heading home and having this for breakfast:

so tasty, porridge with banana and honey and a BIG mug of tea.

On Sunday we had M's birthday party.  A nice bunch of seven 7 year olds and 2 hours of fun and laughter.  I have to confess though, I'm glad it's over for another year:)

Life is racing on ahead.  I've already completed my first course at uni and am well into the second with the exam for that next Thursday.  Plans for the thesis are moving ahead and we've already met twice with the organisation we plan to base our thesis on.

C is away for 2 nights this week so I've my little boy snuggling up to me at night:-)  I'll be glad though when this little single parenting stint is over tomorrow.

Last weekend we did lots of tidying and organising in the garage to make room for my new car.  This weekend, hopefully, will be a quiet one.  M has a halloween party on Saturday and today we were out on the hunt for a suitably scary outfit for him.
